Hero MotoSports
Turning every race into a mission worth following

Chapter 01
A passionate sport outside the mainstream spotlight
Motorsport has speed, risk, competition and deeply committed fans. Yet in India, its stories frequently receive less mainstream attention than those of larger spectator sports.
Hero MotoSports competed in national and international rally events throughout the year. Every race generated dramatic moments, demanding terrain and individual rider stories - but those moments could disappear quickly without a content system capable of capturing them.
The challenge was not a shortage of action.
It was translating that action into a continuous digital story for audiences following the team from a distance.
The work needed to keep existing fans informed, give new audiences a reason to care and build recognition for the riders behind the machines.
Chapter 02
The race was only one part of the story
Live coverage can easily become a sequence of disconnected updates: a start time, a position, a photograph and a final result.
That may document what happened, but it does not necessarily make people feel invested in what happens next.
Hero MotoSports needed a narrative that could hold together multiple races, locations, riders and stages across an entire year.
Each rally had its own environment and stakes, but the communication still needed to feel recognisably part of one Hero MotoSports universe.
The strategic problem became:
How do we turn a calendar of separate races into an unfolding story that fans can consistently follow?
Chapter 03
Reframing every race as a mission
The answer was to present each race as a mission.
A mission naturally contains an objective, a team, a challenge and a journey into difficult territory. That made it a strong narrative frame for rally racing, where riders confront unfamiliar landscapes, uncertain conditions and intense physical and mechanical demands.
It also gave every event its own character without disconnecting it from the larger brand story.
Each race could adopt a tone shaped by its terrain and circumstances while remaining part of the same overarching platform:
A new destination.
A new challenge.
A new mission for the riders to complete.
This moved the content beyond reporting race information. It created a structure through which audiences could understand the stakes and follow the team’s progression.

Chapter 04
Building a year-long content engine
A comprehensive race-coverage plan was created to support four international races and three national rallies.
The system needed to work remotely, respond to developments quickly and coordinate information arriving from teams operating in different locations.
The content strategy extended beyond race-day publishing. It had to establish context around each event, sustain attention while the rally was underway and continue the narrative as the team moved towards its next challenge.
Different channels were activated to distribute race information, rider updates and social content. Every piece had to balance speed with consistency while remaining true to the particular mission being covered.
The mission framework made it possible to build continuity across formats. Individual updates no longer existed in isolation; they represented moments inside a larger journey.
Chapter 05
Making the riders part of the brand story
A racing team is experienced through the people who represent it.
The riders therefore needed to become more than names accompanying race results. Their personalities, preparation and experiences could give audiences a more human point of entry into the sport.
The year-long strategy included building the riders’ personal brands alongside the Hero MotoSports identity.
This created two connected narratives:
- The collective journey of Hero MotoSports across the racing calendar.
- The individual journeys of the riders undertaking each mission.
The team provided consistency. The riders provided character.
Together, they gave audiences more reasons to follow the story between races - not only to discover where the team finished, but to understand who was taking on the challenge.

Chapter 06
Creating at the speed of the sport
Real-time content requires a different relationship with planning.
The broad narrative, tone and content system need to be established before a race begins. But the actual story depends on events that cannot be predicted.
The framework therefore needed enough structure to maintain a recognisable brand voice and enough flexibility to respond to what happened on the course.
Across seven races, “Mission” became the connecting device: a way to turn changing locations, rapid updates and individual rider moments into one continuous Hero MotoSports story.
The races supplied the action.
The content system made that action followable.
